In 1937, the property was purchased by the grandparents of Anton Nindl, the current owner, and over the following years, it was lovingly expanded with a lot of passion and hard work. The entire family pitched in – the house and barn were enlarged, pastures were acquired and an alpine farm was established.
Even back then, the stunning location, alpine tranquility and fresh mountain air drew people to the “Guggen.” As the region developed, with the construction of the high mountain reservoirs and the opening of the glacier for tourism, the Pinzgau area experienced a tourism boom. Guggenbichl was transformed into a year-round destination welcoming guests from around the world in both summer and winter.
With the growing number of visitors and the increasing workload, the agricultural operations were separated from the guesthouse. At that time, Guggenbichl consisted of two guest rooms and a dining room with six tables.
2001 – Hermann Nindl (Anton’s brother) took over the family farm, and in 2002, the guesthouse was passed on to its current owner, Anton Nindl. Their sister, Monika Egger-Nindl, is responsible for the charming decorations in and around the vacation home and supports her brothers with advice and hands-on help.
2009 – Anton married his partner Claudia and in 2010 their son Anton Jr. was born. During holidays, Anton’s older children, Matthias and Theresa, come to visit, bringing joy and togetherness to the family.
Since 2019 the family has transitioned from running a traditional inn to operating a charming, small Hotel Garni with seven rooms and two apartments, which we continue to run with great passion, humor and love.
Every family member cherishes their homeland and deeply appreciates the blessing of continuing such a wonderful legacy.
